Tie-dye charm · From Gujarat
Bandhani Patola Dupatta
Our Bandhani Dupattas bring together the dotted tie-dye art of Gujarat with Patola colours and borders. Joyful, textured and full of tradition.
What is a Bandhani dupatta?
In Bandhani, tiny sections of the fabric are pinched and tied with thread, then dyed. When the knots are opened, they leave the dotted patterns Gujarat is famous for. Some of our pieces combine this with Patola weaving, so you see Patola motifs and borders alongside the Bandhani dots.
It is a festive, cheerful dupatta that suits weddings, garba nights and family celebrations.

Bandhani: common questions
How is Bandhani different from Patola?
In Bandhani, the finished fabric is knotted and dyed to make dots. In Patola, the threads are dyed before weaving. Some pieces combine both.
Is every Bandhani dot made by hand?
Yes. The fabric is pinched and tied by hand before dyeing, which is why each piece is slightly different.
Will the crinkle texture stay?
The texture is part of the craft. Steam it lightly instead of pressing it flat to keep it.
Can I see the dupatta before buying?
Yes. Book a video call and we will show you the dupatta live, front and back. More answers are on our FAQ page.
